What are Designated Gifts?
You can support our organization by making Dominican Home Health Agency a beneficiary of your assets such as:
- Bank or Stock Brokerage Account
- Life Insurance Policy
- Retirement Plan
Benefits of Making Designated Gifts
Designated gifts maintain the value of your assets.
Distributions from these assets are often subject to federal and estate taxes at your death. Making a designated gift to Dominican Home Health Agency reduces the potential tax burden on your family and allows our tax-exempt organization to receive the full value of your asset. This leaves you free to focus on leaving your loved ones less heavily taxed assets.
Beneficiary designation gifts are among the most flexible of all charitable gifts.
Even after you complete the beneficiary designation form or deed, you can take distributions or withdrawals from your retirement, investment or bank account and continue to freely use your account or your deeded property. You can also change your mind at any time in the future for any reason, including if you have a loved one who needs your financial help.
How do I make a Designated Gift?
1. Request a Beneficiary Change Form from your company or plan administrator.
2. Indicate the desired gift amount or percentage and return the completed form. You can designate Dominican Home Health Agency as the primary beneficiary for a percentage or specific amount. You can also make us the contingent beneficiary so that we will receive the balance of your plan only if your primary beneficiary doesn't survive you.
3. Return the form according to instructions provided.
With the IRA Charitable Rollover, if you are 70½ years old or older, you can take advantage of a simple way to help those we serve and receive tax benefits in return. You can give up to $100,000 from your IRA directly to a qualified charity such as Dominican Home Health Agency without having to pay income taxes on the money.
